Recently my husband and I spent several days at The Homestead Resort in Hot Springs, Virginia. It was my dear husband's attempt to help me relax, unwind and return some balance to my life. Seems he was so impressed with ActiveRain's most thoughtful contribution to helping me relax, he really stepped up.
We have been traveling to The Homestead on a regular basis in recent years and while I really, really want to try The Greenbrier Resort in White Sulphur Springs, WV - plus check out Lewisburg and visit my AR friend, Rebecca Gaujot - I cannot bear the thought of giving up The Homestead for even one visit in order to try another place, even if it turned out to be even more fabulous than The Homestead.
So, what makes The Homestead so special and what on earth does this have to do with real estate?
In a word: Service.
It's not the rooms, the bed linens, the amenities, Afternoon Tea in the Grand Hall or even the incredible food - oh, the food! - but rather, it is simply the level of service that I absolutely cherish. I love pulling up and having the bellman greet us as if he had been waiting all day for our arrival. Ditto for the servers in the grand Dining Room. Everyone seems so happy to be there and so happy for US to be there.
I went over to the Jefferson Pools - yes, where Thomas Jefferson soaked away his recurrent rheumatism - and was greeted by a woman who reminded me she had done my facial the year prior. Seems she is not only an esthetician, but was equally capable of filling in at reception, in housekeeping or wherever they needed her. I was just amazed she remembered me.
So, even though no one from The Homestead calls us every month to ask if we know anyone who wants to take a relaxing vacation or mails us constant reminders of their fabulousness, The Homestead automatically comes to mind when I think of getting away for a few days for some outstanding R&R.
It may not be the best resort in the world or the least expensive, but none of that matters. The service is exceptional and we always come home feeling as if we have had the best experience in the world.
That is how I want my clients to think of their real estate experience with me. I don't want them to remember it as contentious or stressful or unpleasant - rather, when they think of real estate, I want them to have a warm, fuzzy feeling about my service and not even consider going anywhere else...even if I don't beat them over the head every few weeks and remind them of just that.
From Northern Virginia to the Northern Neck, we provide you with stellar service (just read what some of our former clients have to say about it) and top notch market knowledge to help you sell your current home or buy your next dream home.
